League of St Peter
New Society to honour legacy donors.
We are pleased to announce the formation of the “League of St Peter”, which has been established to acknowledge the important role of those who support Apostleship of the Sea with a gift in their Will. All past legacy donors are automatically honoured as members, as well as every supporter who has let us know that AoS is remembered in their Will.
A simple certificate and membership badge will be sent, on request, to any supporter who has promised us a gift in their Will. (Badge costs have been subsidised by an anonymous donor.) Members’ names will be recorded on a roll of honour and an annual Mass will be said for their intentions. They will also receive additional newsletters and invitations to occasional receptions. (You can download the newsletters using the links found on the right of the page)
The League of St Peter is named for two Patrons: St Peter the Apostle – the humble fisherman chosen by Jesus to be a “fisher of men” and the first Pope; and St Peter Claver (1581-1654) – patron Saint of seafarers, who ministered particularly to slaves transported by sea and who continues to inspire our port chaplains and those who visit ships in the name of the Church. Both saints are represented in the insignia of the League, shown below.
To receive your member’s certificate and badge, please email Alastair email@example.com or phone 020 7901 1931
